A considered starting point

Who this assessment may help

This assessment may be helpful if you are unsure whether ADHD, autism, or both may explain your experience, or if a previous assessment has not fully answered your questions.

When the picture overlaps

ADHD, autism or both?

ADHD and autism are distinct conditions, but they can overlap. A combined assessment considers both from the outset, rather than asking you to decide which route fits best before you begin.

Later recognition

Overlap, masking and late recognition

Some people reach adulthood having adapted, masked or compensated for longstanding differences in attention, communication, sensory experience, routines or social energy. A combined assessment can be especially helpful where the pattern is not straightforward.

Why Combined?

When ADHD & Autism Co-occur

ADHD and Autism frequently co-occur in both children and adults — a combination often called AuDHD in the neurodivergent community. When both traits exist together, they interact in complex ways that a single-focused assessment might miss.

Booking them together means one coordinated assessment process, and allows our clinicians to consider how the traits may interact with each other.

What to expect

What the assessment looks at

The assessment considers current experience, developmental history and relevant background information to build a careful clinical picture.

Clarity either way

What happens if the picture is more complex

Sometimes the assessment points clearly to ADHD, autism or both. Sometimes it also highlights other factors that may need to be considered. We will explain the findings clearly and discuss appropriate next steps.

Common Questions

Combined Assessment FAQs

Booking together means a single coordinated process. It also lets our clinicians look at how the traits interact with each other, which may give a more complete picture than assessing either alone.
You receive a single, unified diagnostic report covering both ADHD and Autism. Our clinical reports provide a clear record of the assessment findings and may support discussions with schools, employers or healthcare providers where relevant, though each organisation decides what evidence it requires.
That's completely fine and a common outcome. The goal is accuracy. If you meet criteria for only ADHD or only Autism, your report will accurately reflect that and guide your next steps.
If you're not sure, a combined assessment means you don't have to decide in advance — tell us what you've noticed when you enquire and we can help you think it through before you book.
Yes. ADHD and autism are distinct conditions, but traits can overlap, which is part of why some people consider a combined assessment rather than choosing one route in advance.
It's possible. A previous diagnosis doesn't rule out a combined assessment, and it can be a helpful next step if questions remain.
AuDHD is an informal term some people use to describe having both ADHD and autism. Our formal service name is the Combined ADHD & Autism Assessment.
